The National Response Framework (NRF) in the United States of America
is a part of the nationwide approach for native soil protection. NRF presents the leading principles enabling all stages of
domestic reaction associates to plan for and offer a united national rejoinder
to disasters and the emergencies. Constructing the existing National Incident Management
System (NIMS) and the ICS (Incident Command System) consistency, the NRF's managing structures are at all
times in effect for accomplishment at any time for local, national and state
emergency response. Its purpose is the safeguarding of the state in any
disaster response. (FEMA)
The federal government of the United States of America
has formed numerous huge organizations and congressional panels as well as
produced hundreds of authorized reports each of which assert to detail suitable
disaster response guiding principles. Some major agencies that were formed for
the disaster management are Housing and Home Finance Agency, Federal Civil
Defense Administration, Office of Emergency Planning, Office of Civil Defense
and Mobilization and the Federal Disaster Assistance. Department of Homeland
Security was also formed in 2002. (Andrew, 2007)
Different Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
are lawfully created by natural or authorized people that function autonomously
from any type of government. The total figure of NGOs working in
the United States of America is predictable to be 1.5 million. (HUMANRIGHTS.
Gov, 2012)
The American Red Cross is a disaster
response organization. Throughout the world this organization provides relief
to the humans which are affected by the natural or other disasters. This NGO
does not only help the people affected by disasters but this also has many
other missions too. Red Cross plays a major role in the US. It’s the top
organization and it reaches even to the far ares for providing help. If we
divide the disaster event into different segments like the moment of the
disaster and its after effects etc.. This organization works from the day one
of the disaster and tries to keep their tires till the prosperity of the last
person who was effected from the disaster. The Red Cross has a legal status of
a federal instrumentality and upholds a special association with the Federal
Government.
Samaritans Purse is also a world wide
organization. It provides the spiritual and physical assistance to the victims
of war, floods, poverty and hunger etc.. The role of this organization is very
necessary for the US. As this NGO provides help on all the catastrophes so this
plays the role in almost every incident. There are many examples of their work.
From hunger to education and from medical health to the help required in
disasters. They do all the things.
All the NGOs and organizations are
supported by the structures that are described by the NRF. Operation Blessing
is a worldwide relief and humanitarian organization. It provides food, shelter,
clothing and other basic necessities of life. There are many big illustrations
which shows us that this is an energetic organization. Last year almost 81
disasters were hopping in the US and they tried their best to provide relief to
the people. The disaster response, emergency medical aid, Clean up crews and
the extreme blessing are the main objectives of this organization.
United
Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) takes action in the areas which are the
most affected by the natural disasters. It is our mission to continue
cooperation with the government so we can give them relief. The people affected
by civil disasters that are in such a magnitude that crush they are the people
of that time which needs the help. So we go there and tries our best to
rehabilitate them. This NGO also works from the first day till the last and
tries his best to have long term plans which are in the benefit of the people. (Mary)
